Frequently Asked Questions

Is Pilates for anyone ?

Yes. Pilates can be done by anyone who is interested in increasing fitness levels, and achieving over-all health goals. There is no age limit, or fitness level that is required to try Pilates, and men and women find this form of exercise to be both challenging and fun. Pilates is either done on floor mats or on Pilates equipment and either discipline is a great way to start a work-out program.

May I try a class before I buy?

Yes. Come and join us for one of the on-going classes on the creatingreality.com website activities calandar. Your first class is "on the house".

What if I have health issues ? May I still participate ?

As always, we recommend a doctor's or health care provider's approval to join any type of fitness programming. If you have special health issues such as joint surgery, replacement, arthritis, pregnancy, or any other type of special situation, please contact the Instructor to discuss further. In most cases, Pilates is a great way to improve such conditions over time.

What is the difference between Pilates Mat classes and Pilates Reformer work ?

Both forms of exercise were created by Joseph Pilates. The Reformer challenges strength, balance, and endurance as you glide along on a spring-based carriage using ropes and pulleys to create resistance to your movement. Mat class recreates Reformer work using the weight of your own body and small fitness props to challenge for a total body workout. Either way, Pilates is an excellent path to wellness.
