Admitting You Are Wrong

Do you have trouble admitting when you are wrong ?

Would you consider the following ?

Admitting that you are wrong indicates that you are smarter than you were (an improvement). Learning from your mistakes frequently offers more vivid and dramatic lessons that do your successes

Promptly admitting that you are wrong means that you can choose a better choice sooner and improve the situation faster. Then, you don't have to keep expending energy worrying or hiding your mistake. This also demonstrates a willingness to live a better life enriching yourself on a continual basis.

Being wrong is a natural part of life. You don't perfectly predict the future (and I trust if you could predict the future you would call me and share your knowledge to the winning powerball numbers). So, each choice or decision you make is in truth just a guess. Life is a mystery. So, it should be no surprise that at times things are going to turn out differently than you expected.

Admitting you are wrong and accepting beats anyone else to the punch of criticizing you because if they do criticize, they are simply confirming how smart you are at recognizing your mistake.

It is especially helpful for adults to admit they are wrong around children. This helps children feel secure that mistakes can be dealt with, without shame. You set a great example for how to live a more self-accepting, relaxed life.

Admitting you are wrong and being willing to change demonstrates integrity. People know they count on your honesty and dedication to getting the job done right. It contributes to an atmosphere of openness and realistic expectations.

Trying to act like you're perfect is a lie and an incredible standard to try to maintain.

Being perfect is not human and to act so is a bad role model for the rest of us.

Admitting we are wrong can be as easy or difficult as we make it. The choice is ours.

It's as simple as taking a wrong turn. You can pull over to the side and waste time thinking you are stupid or shameful for making a such a big mistake. Or you can feel angry or embarrassed or silly while you drive around the block and get going the right direction. Error in Joy !
