Neck Pain

Sometimes the world feels like "a pain in the neck". If you feel tension and pain in your neck frequently, try this visualization. At first allow yourself to feel your neck as if it were a short stiff stick. Then while breathing deeply and fully allow your awareness to travel from your neck gently down your spine to your tailbone. As your awareness expands, you can gradually allow yourself the image and sensation of your spine as a vibrant, limber tree trunk. Quite easily you can feel that your neck rather than being a short isolated stick is actually the strong, flexible tip of the tree. You can fully experience the support you feel when connected to the roots of your trunk. You can sense that your neck is one of the most dynamic, responsive aspects of you when you maintain this awareness of support and integration.
