Affirmation
Through our process of thinking we are nearly continually invoveled in internal dialogue with ourselves. Affirmation is a very specific focused form of this inner communication. By conciously crafting and choosing the language by which we communicate with ourselves, we balance the conflicting forces within us. An example is that by affirming that "We are strong and wise and will choose the best path." we allow dynamics of hope and doubt to be resolved and can proceed with greater clarity.
An affirmation is not wishful thinking. It is an acknowledgement of a truth which at times may be hidden. It is a way of stating a truth which may not have come into full fruition or manifistation. To say "I wish I had a million dollars" is fantasy. But to say "I am supported and nurtured by a prosperous Universe" is a conscious effort to recognize with gratitude the gifts that life offers.
Here are several ways to enahance the use affirmations:
1. Personalize affirmations in a language you clearly understand and can repeat with ease
2. Allow affirmations to always to positive and said with a spirit of hope and encouragement. Critical, scolding and judgmental tones will inhibit their effectivenes.
3. "Act As If" and "Fake It Until You Make It" Phrase affirmations in the present tense as if they have already manifested.
By affirming life, we create a healthy relationship between our thoughts and the very spirit of the world. This makes our journey less lonely, fearful, and more joyful.
